FAISALABAD:

United Kingdom High Commissioner Philip Barton stressed on enhancing trade with Pakistan, saying the business community of Faisalabad should play its key role and increase the value of bilateral trade to £3 billion by the end of this year.

While speaking to businessmen at Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said that more than 100 British companies are already working in Pakistan and he would try to convince others to invest as the business environment has improved considerably. He also mentioned the meeting between British Prime Minister David Cameron with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in 2013 and said that efforts have already been made to enhance bilateral trade. He also expressed satisfaction over the increase in Pakistani exports to European Union after the grant of GSP Plus status, adding that Britain will extend support to Pakistani exporters.
