Khanewal District Health Officer Muhammad Yousaf said on Saturday that a control room had been set up at the DCO’s office to monitor the three-day polio drive will starting on January 12.


In a statement, he said people could contact the control room by dialling 065-9200148, if polio teams could not reach in their area.

He said 475,993 children under five years of age would be vaccinated in the drive. He said 1,134 teams, including 100 supervisors, 218 area heads and 961 mobile teams would administer polio drops across the district.

Yousuf said vaccination teams would be deputed at every hospital, dispensary, bus terminals and railway stations for three days from 8 am to 5pm.

He urged parents to cooperate with polio teams. He said people could contact the toll-free number 0800-88588 for more information about the polio drive.
