The anti-corruption police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two officials of the revenue department red-handed on the charges of alleged corruption.
Mardan anti-corruption department Circle Officer Abdus Sattar Khan told reporters that relevant authorities had ordered an enquiry against patwaris Ghulam Mohammad and Umar Said, and he along with other members of the enquiry team visited their offices for
this purpose.
According to Khan, the two accused men allegedly offered to pay Rs1,000 each to ASI Salman and ASI Ali Akbar and Rs4,000 to him as a bribe to tilt the investigation in their favour.

Upon catching the revenue officials red-handed, the police arrested them for being involved in corruption, said Khan. He added Rs0.15 million was seized from them.
The circle officer further said Ghulam Mohammad and Umar Said were performing their duties as patwaris in Muza Hoti and Muza Gujar Gari areas, respectively.
A case has been registered against the two revenue officials and further investigation is under way, said Khan.
