Members of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Punjab chapter gathered at the party’s Punjab secretariat on Friday to hold celebrations for PTI chief Imran Khan’s wedding to TV anchor Reham Khan. PTI Punjab’s central leadership were also present at the secretariat.

Several supporters and party workers celebrated at Liberty Roundabout on Thursday evening after the wedding was officially announced.  Party leaders also held a meeting at the secretariat to decide a future course of action for the party in the province.  They too joined office bearers in celebrating Khan’s wedding and distributed sweets.

PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chauhdry said wedding announcement had lifted the mood of PTI workers. “It was natural for people to celebrate.” He said he was leaving for Islamabad to congratulate the couple in person. Information secretary Andaleeb Abbas said the news had been well received by supporters. She said it marked the beginning of a new phase in their leader’s life. PTI Lahore president Abdul Aleem Khan said it was a happy moment for PTI supporters and people of the country. He wished the couple well in their married life.  PTI workers distributed sweets among traders on The Mall. The party’s youth and women wings have arranged several celebration events following the announcement of the wedding.
