Local industry: ‘Indian films destroyed local cinema’

Our Correspondent January 07, 2015

LAHORE: Lahore High Court admitted a petition for hearing on Wednesday against the exhibition of Indian films in Pakistan. A film producer filed the petition saying that Indian movies were being illegally smuggled and exhibited in Pakistani cinemas. He said the local film industry had been destroyed because of this. The petitioner asked the court to restrain the Pakistan Film Censor Board from issuing NOCs to Indian movies. Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh has sought a reply on the matter from the censor board in a fortnight.

Lets ban Google, Facebook, Skype, Line, Yahoo, Hotmail and all other foreign websites too.

Because they are badly hurting the prospect of our local internet entrepreneurs. How can the budding stars of our future produce anything worth the time in presence of these massive giants.

Infact, Pakistan should just stop importing everything at once. Use all things local and halal. This will be very beneficial for all the local industries. So what if we loss quality of life, lose access to all innovations and regress to an absolute economic abyss with no prospects of recovery. At least our products will shine.

That, my friends, is called competition. If, as your talking heads say on TV, Pakistan produces better quality movies, they should be winning this race. Maybe it is time to get past Maula Jatt.
