Weather weary: ‘Winter has become harsher because of gas load shedding’

FAISALABAD: Hundreds of residents of Chak 67-JB and its adjoining areas staged a protest demonstration on Monday against gas load shedding on Wednesday.  The protesters gathered at Jhang-Faisalabad Road. Leading the protest, Parveen Bibi, said gas supply to their locality had been suspended for over two weeks. “We can’t cook, bathe or keep ourselves warm,” she said. “This winter has been particularly severe and no one has taken notice of how hard this season has been on the common man.” The protesters burnt old tyres and chanted “Go Nawaz Go” slogans.
