Encroachments: Crackdown against illegal constructions in Walled City

LAHORE: Over the past three months, the Walled City Building Control has taken action against 244 buildings constructed in violation of building laws in the area. FIRs have been registered against owners of 220 buildings and 20 structures have been demolished.

The Walled City of Lahore Authority sealed 49 illegally constructed buildings and sent notices to 94. Building Control director said owners of these constructions had wised up, “but we will take all measures necessary to protect the culture and heritage of the Walled City”.
