Fatal mistake: Six suffocate to death
MULTAN:
Six members of a family died due to suffocation in Mian Channu on Tuesday. According to police, Saifur Rehman, 26, got married on Sunday in Chak 51/15-L. “The family had rented an electricity generator for the wedding. They went to sleep in the room where the generator was kept. Early on Tuesday, they were found dead in the room,” police said. Akram, an uncle of Saif’s, told The Express Tribune that Saif, his mother, two sisters and two uncles were sleeping in the room. “We knocked at the door in the morning. When no one opened it, we broke it down and found them dead,” he said. Rescue 1122 took the bodies to the Mian Channu Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Mian Channu Saddar SHO Afzal Sindhu told The Express Tribune that samples of Saif’s blood had been sent to forensic laboratory after some family members said the six might have died from poisoning. “Initial investigation indicates that they died due to smoke inhalation. We have asked all the guests present at Saif’s house not to leave without informing us,” he said.
