Poor quality: Six hospitalised after eating wedding meal

FAISALABAD: Six women of a family fainted after consuming substandard food near Jhang Road police station on Monday.  A police spokesperson said Shakeela Bibi, Rabia Hameed, Faiza, Zunaira Tahir, Zubaida Bibi and Farhat Bibi ate the meal at a mehndi in Risala 12 on Sunday night and fell ill soon after. 

He said when they went home, they began vomiting. He said when one of them fainted, they called Rescue 1122 who took them to a hospital. He said all the other women fainted on the way. DHQ Hospital Emergency Director Abdul Rahseed later said their stomachs had been pumped and their condition was reported stable.

He said blood samples had been sent to labs to determine the cause of the illness. The spokesman said a formal complaint had not been submitted by the family. He said action would be taken if a formal complaint was submitted to them.
