As many as four people were also injured in Indian firing in Sukhmaal, Bheke Chak and Bhurey Chak villages in Zafarwal and Shakargarh sectors. Meanwhile, retaliatory fire from Rangers killed at least one Indian soldier.
According to the ISPR, Azeem, 18, from Bore Chak and a woman from Sukhmal village in Zafarwal sector were killed before two more civillians were killed as Indian firing continued late into the night.
Pakistani troops are befittingly responding to the Indian aggression and targeting the BSF positions from where are firing on Pakistani territory. One Indian soldier was reportedly killed due to Pakistani firing.
Reports suggest the exchange of gunfire is still going on.
This is the sixth time in the past six days that Indian troops have targeted civilian population along the working boundary.
Indian troops have reportedly suffered heavy losses in the exchange of fire, said ISPR.

@Arjun Singh: We have UNMOGIP on Pakistan side of the border. It is India which does not allow the UN Group to monitor its side.
Thank you Modi government for forcefully retaliation the only language that our neighbors understand. Good job BSF.
Great content put up. Can you please provide further details on the numbers etc. For Ex- Befitting reply by Pak Rangers (How) and Heavy losses by Indian troops :)
if only tweets, sms, whatsap, mobiles were there in 1947,1964,1965, 1971 bangladesh, 1998 kargil. it would be a different story, By the way the moderation team is doing a good job. we know what neutrality means.
@Arjun Singh:
WORD! And glow in the dark bullets too :)
@Ahmed: There is also nothing new in the pattern of Pakistan supporting all sort of terrorism and then cry "but we are fighting the bad terrorists". Keep it up, lets see who bleeds out first.
@abreez: All kinds of unpredictable things can happen anywhere on this planet if we play with Mother Nature. How does sea level rise affect inland areas like Uttar Pradesh? I think the rise of population (200 million in UP) is the problem. Are you sure Pakistan will be spared in this scenario? How about China which has less arable land? The talk of "demographic dividend" has been and will always be a nonsensical concept, in the face of the huge environmental damage the human species is causing through overpopulation and overconsumption! (The Sahara desert - size of the US - was once green.)
Pakistani media is providing incomplete and inaccurate news. India has vacated several villages in the Samba sector because of Pakistani firing. Both sides are accusing each other. The truth has become a major casualty. But NDTV is giving a slightly balanced version. A better headline would be "LoC violations by both sides continue unabated".

Now it is confirmed India doesnt want Pakistan to defeat Taliban...They want to divert Pakistan's attention....Pakistan should retaliate very hard Mr Dougal (National Security Adviser of India) said'' India should use take advantage of issue btw Taliban and Pakistan...Give them more money, high technology and if Pakistan spends 1200 crores on Taliban we should spend 1600 crores..If 1 Mumbai type attack take place in future Pakistan will loose Baluchistan''....It means that India has a role in Baluchistan issue... If anyone thinks especially Indian Troll plz go on youtube and see video..He is addressing in a university... Chuck Hagel(Former Defence Secretary) said ''India has always used Afghanistan as a ground to trouble Pakistan''He said 2 years back If u dont believe in what Pakistan says so believe US..... Modi playing Game of Thrones....Funding TTP and then expressing grief on twitter when attack takes place in Pakistan..... India will be hardly hit as Taliban will be a history and now after Karzai their hold in Afghanistan is getting less as Ghani refused to take military aid from them.... So India used firings as to divert Pakistan attention from Taliban..Cross border firings done in October and then 2 major attacks in Lahore and Peshawar took place......
Pakistan has currently no reason to fire as It is already in a state of War with Taliban
India lie exposed as Indian media said heavy firing was done by Pakistan on 31st Dec and India Minister external affairs said only a sniper was shot which killed BSF constable..Sniper can be shot from anywhere...A fabricated story...Pakistan need to get serious and give huge retaliation and there is no news as of now on TOI that Pakistan has done firings its India who has done this brutal act like always
@abreez: This comment has nothing to do with the story above. Just proves how negative you guys are. Come out of it. Care about the poverty in your own land. Even the developed economies like us and canada have beggars and poors in it. Ask Indians are working hard to come out of poverty but you guys don't want to come out of your stupid analysis. Its better to keep shut than open your mouth and prove that you are a fool.
India has free access of news agencies to J&K.. what about our govt? Where are the true impartial reports from our side? In this report, they say heavy shelling from indian side, and our agencies think are we are so stupid that we will belive there are no casuality on our side... ??
I am not sure this is a good move by modi. What is he trying to achieve.
Now where is Mr.Asif? Thought he said India will have to be taught in its own language! Where is he now... a lot of talk and less of action
modi govt has turned the tables, fighting to become influential power in the region which is counter intutive in the presence of three nuclear powers in the region
Biggest poverty of the world will face different problems but the priorities of the government are different. The Environmental Consequences of India’s Growth Model January 03, 2015 The Diplomat India is in a peculiar position today. Not in terms of “harnessing its demographic dividend” – as an economist might put it, given that more than half of the country’s population is below the age of 25 – but in terms of its memory and future. Its under 25 population has no direct memory of the Emergency or the Bhopal Disaster, including your correspondent. According to the UN, 60 million people living in arid zones could migrate by 2020. Rising sea levels will displace millions of people. India may soon be faced not only with its own domestic issues, but also with climate change issues arising in Bangladesh or Maldives. Stéphane Hallegate, one of the authors of the IPCC report, considers a scenario in Philippe Squarzoni’s graphic novel Climate Changed. It is 2060, and 20 million Bangladeshis have been forced to leave their country and head for India. Can we conceive of the consequences of that? Or take another example, a one meter rise in sea level, which will swallow up 3.7 million acres of arable land on the Ganges plain, forcing residents from Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, and Bihar south into, say, Maharashtra. Could India accommodate this? Capitalism encourages an individualistic society. In its pursuit of capitalism, India could simply decide not to talk about the environmental costs, ignoring nature’s logic. But if a capitalist India cannot develop a collective responsibility to nature, cannot make the future a stakeholder in today’s policy, then nature will eventually exact its price. All Indians can hope for is that that day does not come soon.
There is nothing new. India has been playing this 'infiltration and ceasefire' drama since clinton and bush's times. Now Obama is to visit India and she is continuously perpetrating such dramas to show to uncle sam how bad Pakistan is. India's national security adviser has rightly said about India being Pakistan's sworn enemy.
