As many as four people were also injured in Indian firing in Sukhmaal, Bheke Chak and Bhurey Chak villages in Zafarwal and Shakargarh sectors. Meanwhile, retaliatory fire from Rangers killed at least one Indian soldier.
According to the ISPR, Azeem, 18, from Bore Chak and a woman from Sukhmal village in Zafarwal sector were killed before two more civillians were killed as Indian firing continued late into the night.
Pakistani troops are befittingly responding to the Indian aggression and targeting the BSF positions from where are firing on Pakistani territory. One Indian soldier was reportedly killed due to Pakistani firing.
Reports suggest the exchange of gunfire is still going on.
This is the sixth time in the past six days that Indian troops have targeted civilian population along the working boundary.
Indian troops have reportedly suffered heavy losses in the exchange of fire, said ISPR.

@abreez: All kinds of unpredictable things can happen anywhere on this planet if we play with Mother Nature. How does sea level rise affect inland areas like Uttar Pradesh? I think the rise of population (200 million in UP) is the problem. Are you sure Pakistan will be spared in this scenario? How about China which has less arable land? The talk of "demographic dividend" has been and will always be a nonsensical concept, in the face of the huge environmental damage the human species is causing through overpopulation and overconsumption! Pakistani media is providing incomplete and inaccurate news. India has vacated several villages in the Samba sector because of Pakistani firing. Both sides are accusing each other. The truth has become a major casualty. But NDTV is giving a slightly balanced version. A better headline would be "LoC violations by both sides continue unabated".

India lie exposed as Indian media said heavy firing was done by Pakistan on 31st Dec and India Minister external affairs said only a sniper was shot which killed BSF constable..Sniper can be shot from anywhere...A fabricated story...Pakistan need to get serious and give huge retaliation and there is no news as of now on TOI that Pakistan has done firings its India who has done this brutal act like always
