The infants were spotted in an open field near Toll Plaza on Sheikhupura Road by passersby.
“I received a telephone call informing me of the bodies of two newborns lying in the fields near Toll Plaza Sheikhupura Road, Mali Kabaria,” said the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Millat Town police station Muhammad Afzal. “I took the bodies into custody and a case has been registered against an unknown female under section 329 of the Pakistan Code (PPC)”.
Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Shahid Ali, who has been assigned the case, told The Express Tribune that “the police did not conduct a postmortem of the newborns and buried them in the local graveyard with the help of the villagers.”
Responding to a question, the investigation officer said that both newborns were premature due to which they could not survive the severe weather. “However, we are investigating the case and the real culprits responsible for the death of the infants would be arrested shortly,” he added.

You blame everything on Punjab i visited Sindh last weeks and its main city Karachi and i know how safe and how clean the main city is You can not even listen to the calls in the high trafic bcz any one can poiny a gun on you and take it from u and KPK government their is all terrorists in that province u can not walk in night a etc etc and don't bother to tell u about balochistan.... Their are alot of cases like these taking place in other provinces but the media is frightened to go out there at least Punjab is by far the best province thanks To Shareef family @oBSERVER:
A very heartless act. How can anyone think of doing such a callous thing?
@Arifa Batool: Highly AGREED.
Why blame the mom without any investigation??? Only in Pakistan!
@oBSERVER Precisely what is the governments fault if a couple decide to have a child out of wedlock?
Why is everyone blaming only the mother?? As though she conceived the babies out of thin air and the father had nothing to do with it. What a misogynistic society we have!
This is not callous but criminal act. "Namalum" Parents should be identified and charged with murder.
This is the welfare state of Punjab. Shame on the Punjab Govt for creating circumstances for such tragedy.
Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilaihe Rajeoon. Ameen. Salams
Why on Earth the case was registered against an unknown 'FEMALE'? It could be father who might have left the kids outside on purpose. We have ajeeb police. We are bunch of hypocrites who never forget to stereotype.
Appalling.
this is a very tragic story. The mother will be in a vulnerable state and in need of help. It is not natural for a mother to abandon her babies. I feel sorry for her, wherever she is. May the babies rest in peace, poor little souls.
She needed help before she abandoned them and killed them, now she needs to be brought to justice.
The mother need help, not a case against her and public chitteoll
