Director General Inter Services Public Relations Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa on Sunday said that the phased return of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) will begin from next month.

The military spokesperson tweeted the army along with the government and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) administration will ensure comprehensive resettlement of those displaced due to the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb launched against militants in North Waziristan and Fata.

The decision came during a meeting of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa apex committee formed to implement the recently approved National Action Plan.

Further, the army chief at the meeting announced to give 4,000 ak-47 rifles to Frontier Constabulary to build their capacity.

Earlier today, army chief General Raheel Sharif arrived in Peshawar to attend the meeting. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa governor, K-P Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak, Corps Commander Peshawar and DG ISI are also attending the meeting.

The context of the National Action Plan, security issues and rehabilitation of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) were on the agenda of today’s meeting.

On Saturday, the government formed ‘apex committees’ in all provinces to oversee the implementation of the National Action Plan against terrorism.

Speaking at a special meeting of the Punjab apex committee held at the corps headquarters in Lahore on Saturday, army chief General Raheel Sharif assured the provincial governments of the military’s full support for judicious and speedy action against all evil forces working in the country.

“The key to success lies in the whole-hearted participation of society and ensuring harmony among all intelligence and law-enforcement agencies at every level,” said Gen Raheel.

They should be going to Afghanistan. These are Afghans living on the dole for years. The Aid, NGO's will dry up now, with the Americans gone. Time to go back to Afghanistan.
