FAISALABAD:

Nishatabad police on Friday claimed to have arrested two people for killing a resident of Chak 6-JB, three months after he went missing.

City Police Officer (CPO) Sohail Tajik told The Express Tribune that Nishatabad police had received a complaint that one Muhammad Aslam, son of Sardar Ali Gill, was abducted from Chak 6-JB on October 3.

He said the complaint was submitted by Muhammad Arshad, Aslam’s brother.

The CPO said while investigating, police realised that Aslam’s family had not contacted his family for ransom.

He said police then included Arshad in the investigation.

He said Arshad told them that his brother had married Fatima Bibi 10 years ago. Arshad said his brother suspected that she was having an affair with one Asad Ali. He said the couple had often quarrelled about it.

The CPO said the police then took Bibi and Ali into custody.

He said Bibi confessed to poisoning her husband with Ali’s help. She told police that Aslam used to beat her. She said they had abducted Aslam on October 3 and poisoned him. She said they had thrown his body in a canal near Chak 50.
