Timely Justice: Courts told to expedite terror cases

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Khwaja Imtiaz Ahmad directed anti-terrorism courts province-wide to expedite disposal of cases. He was chairing a meeting organised to review disposal of cases registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. Justice Ahmad expressed satisfaction with the state-of-affairs at the courts and directed presiding officers to expedite the disposal of cases in accordance with the spirit of law. It was decided to prioritise hearing of these cases on a day-to-day basis and courts were advised to bind witnesses, the investigation agencies, the defence and the prosecution in these cases to guarantee daily proceedings.  Senior Puisne Judge Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik was also present on the occasion.
