Zakat and Ushr Minister Malik Nadeem Kamran directed commissioners on Wednesday to prioritise the resolution of problems faced by tenants of military farms.
Kamran said a report in this regard should be submitted in one week. He said action would be taken against officials who failed to submit a report. He was speaking at a meeting. Kamran directed Senior Member Nadeem Ashraf to write to commissioners regarding detailed survey reports to facilitate the timely formulation of a strategy in light of the said reports. He said the government would ensure that genuine tenants were not deprived of their land. He said letters should also be addressed to senior officials of the army, the Seed Corporation and the Agriculture and Livestock Department to ascertain their stance on the issue. Colonies secretary tasked liaise with officials of concerned departments and institutions in this regard.
