Illegal construction: 5 lawyers’ chambers to be demolished

Our Correspondent December 30, 2014

LAHORE: Eighty more lawyers were accommodated in the chambers constructed illegally on the two lawns of the Model Town courts on Tuesday. Lahore Bar Association (LBA) Model Town vice president Zameer Ahmed Jhedu said five of the chambers built on the front lawn would be demolished. He visited the chambers on Tuesday and assigned each one of them to two or three more lawyers per chamber. Jhedu directed the lawyers to demolish five of the chambers, constructed over the police post and on the court’s verandah. The lawyers constructing those chambers protested strongly, but Jhedu told them that if those were not sacrificed, all chambers might have to be demolished.
