A boy reportedly died of pneumonia in a village of Sandaysar union council, said locals on Monday.
However, health department sources have yet to confirm pneumonia to be the cause of death. A resident of Kharar Maira village, Waqar Ali said his six-year-old son Ali was suffering from pneumonia and was taken to a private hospital in the area where he could not survive.
He told journalists the number of children suffering from pneumonia has been on the rise during the last few days.
Meanwhile, official sources at Mansehra district health office said they have not received a single report of death from pneumonia despite the disease being a common occurrence in the prevalent weather. They said the cause of Ali’s death could not be ascertained as he was not admitted to any of the state-run health facilities of the district.
