Hit by stone: Teenager killed for stealing fruit

Owner’s son sees him, throws stones and kills him

RAWALPINDI: A young boy was allegedly killed for plucking fruit from a neighbour’s guava tree in the Dhoke Gujran area of Naseerabad, Rawalpindi on Friday. Yasin was allegedly plucking fruit from a tree in the neighbourhood along with some other boys. When the owner’s son saw them, he threw stones at them. One of the stones hit Yasin and caused a serious head injury. The victim was taken to District Headquarters Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police have arrested the suspect. Meanwhile, the same police on Saturday arrested four persons on separate charges. During patrols in different areas, police parties seized a 30-bore pistol with five bullets each from Waqar Yousaf and Aqib Pervez, a 30-bore pistol with three bullets from Ayaz Khan, and 520 grams of hashish from Ismail. The police registered separate cases.
