Lb Polls Balochistan: APDA demands fair elections on Dec 31

The alliance is a front of seven political parties

QUETTA: All Parties Democratic Alliance (APDA) has demanded transparent and fair elections for the reserved seats of peasants in the local bodies on December 31. The alliance is a front of seven political parties including ANP, PML-N, PML-Q, PTI, Balochistan National Party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Ideological and Hazara Democratic Party against the ruling coalition of National Party and the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party. Addressing a news conference at Quetta Press Club on Friday, the leaders of APDA demanded appointment of impartial staff across the province for holding elections for the reserved seats of peasants and workers. There are 1,486 reserved seats for the peasants and workers in the second phase of Local Bodies’ elections. Of these at least 768 candidates have been elected unopposed. There would be contest for 613 seats on the last day of December.
