The committee was formed a day after the horrific attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar in which 150 people were killed by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during the meeting also said "history would not forgive us if we don't take concrete steps to end the scourge of terrorism in Pakistan."
Leaders met today in Islamabad to discuss the progress made so far in chalking out the national action plan against terrorism.

Implementation is usually the problem in Pakistan. Eliminating terrorism will take at least a decade and this resolve has to stay until that time. That is easier said than done.

There have been so many leadership blunders in Pakistan,over the last 13 years in regard to militancy. It almost seems that Pakistan in cooperation with the US has gone out of its way to be provocative towards militants. Under General Sharif provocation has reached new heights, and militancy has escalated. Apart from following US instruction, what is it about Pakistan, and the sub-continent in general, which seems to generate disparate groups who do not get along with each other? Army is the only functional state institutiion. They can win this battle and drag the sleeping bickering politicians with them.
