Local solutions: Citizens to be included in police committees

The Citizens-Police Coordination Committees (CPCC) will resolve petty issues among the citizens on a priority basis.

ISLAMABAD:


The Islamabad Police have decided to include notables in the Citizens-Police Coordination Committees (CPCC) to resolve petty issues among the citizens on a priority basis.


Senior Superintendent Islamabad Police Asmatullah Junejo while talking to members of the CPCC at a ceremony at the Police Line Headquarters on Sunday said that the Islamabad Police have taken special steps to ensure community policing to sort out disputes of minor nature at the community level without political interference.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Muhammad Ilyas, SP City Rizwan Umar Gondal, SP Industrial Area Liaqat Hayat Niazi and other senior police officers were also present.



Junejo said that coordination between the police and the public will be enhanced as part of the trust-building measures and to solve issues of minor nature.

He urged CPCC representatives to work honestly and with devotion to solve the problems being faced by the general public.
