Winter vacations: Schools closed till January 3

LAHORE:

The government on Thursday announced the closure of all public and private schools from today (December 19) till January 3.

Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, a spokesman for the government, said: “All colleges and universities will remain closed up to January 9 in connection with winter vacations throughout the province,” he said.

“The institutions where examinations are being conducted, the remaining papers will be held after the vacations,” he said.

Adeeb Jawedani, the president of the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association, said examinations were being conducted. “As per the original schedule, the schools were to remain closed from December 25 to January 3. It was released by the Education Department. We simply cannot announce vacations all of a sudden,” Jawedani said.
