ISLAMABAD:

Two children died on Thursday after a fire erupted due to a gas leak in the servant quarter of a house in Sector F-10/4.

The police said that gas had apparently been leaking from a stove and it caught fire when someone tried to light the stove. Resultantly, the children, identified as three-year-old Madiha and four-and-a-half-year-old Hamza, died in the fire.

The bodies were taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.

Separately, the police booked members of an Aabpara market traders union on charges of assaulting policemen, mischief, rioting, and abetment in attacking a police team and a CDA official when they went to the market to remove encroachments. The police have lodged a case against union members, Zaheer Ahmed, Tayyab Abbasi, and others.
