Press club elections on Dec 27

Nomination papers will be received on December 14-15 from 3pm to 8pm.

Elections of the National Press Club for the year 2015 will be held on December 27, said a press release.


The election committee comprises Rizwan Ehsan Ali Joji, Nasir Mir, Abdul Sattar Chaudhry and Ahsan Premi and will be headed by Nasir Zaidi. Iqbal Jaffari and Javaid Shahzad will assist election committee.

Nomination papers will be received on December 14-15 from 3pm to 8pm. Examination of papers by the interested candidates is scheduled on December 16 from 4pm to 8pm. Scrutiny and initial list of candidates will be displayed on December 17, while objections on nomination papers will be received on December 18. The objections will be heard on December 19 from 4pm to 8pm.

Provisional list of candidates will be displayed on December 20 at 10pm. Nomination papers can be withdrawn by 9pm on December 21. The final list of candidates will be announced on December 21 at 10pm.

The polling will be held on December 27 from 10am to 8:30pm.

The candidates will have to deposit a fee of Rs500 each for the post of president, voice-president, secretary, joint secretary and finance secretary, and Rs200 for the executive body. Nomination papers can the obtained from the press club on December 14 and 15 from 11am to 8pm.
