Female health worker shot at, injured in Peshawar

CHARSADDA: A female health worker was injured after two unidentified armed men fired at her on Charsadda Road in Peshawar, Express News reported.

The health worker, identified as Tahira, was waiting at a bus stop after leaving her house to go on duty.

She was transferred to a nearby hospital, where health officials say she sustained at least two bullet injuries.

A previous attack in Charsadda on polio health workers resulted in one worker being injured. The attack was claimed by  Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) faction Jamaatul Ahrar.

The attack had taken place in Charsadda during Polio Day when a polio worker and a student of tenth-grade were fired upon in Sadar Ghari Shabqadar.
