The sentence against Mohammad Fayad Mohammad Azam was carried out in the capital Riyadh, the interior ministry said in a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency.
According to an AFP tally, Azam was the latest of 79 foreigners and Saudis executed in the country this year, despite international concerns over the number and judicial process.
According to rights organisation Ansar Burney Trust, nearly 50 Pakistanis are believed to be facing capital punishment for smuggling drugs.
More than two-thirds of this year's executions have occurred over the past four months.
The interior ministry says the government is battling narcotics "because of their great harm to individuals and society".
Rape, murder, apostasy and armed robbery are also punishable by death under the kingdom's strict version of sharia law.

How do the drug mules pass the security checks at Pakistan airports? If the checks at the Pakistan airports are good enough, the criminals of all sorts can be stopped here and the rest of law-abiding citizens can have a better treatment abroad.
There should be no mercy for Drug mules or traffickers. The laws of Saudi Arabia are very clear so be aware. Don't act as drug mule on the peril of your life. This is also high time for the government of Pakistan to stop it or to device ways to curb these smugglers.

Saudi laws are like spiders' webs, and will, like them, only entangle and hold the poor and weak, while the rich and powerful will easily break through them
Don't get involved with drugs in any way and certainly do not try to sneak them into Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has executed hundreds of people so far this year for a variety of crimes and more than half were Saudi citizens. Everyone knows the price of getting caught so I don't feel for them as innocent victims.
