Slack co-founder Stewart Butterfield and Flickr co-founder Caterina Fake reported their teenager, Mint, missing on April 22.

Mint had last been seen around 10 pm on April 21 and was considered a "voluntary missing person."

A week later, Mint was found safe in San Francisco by the Marin County Sheriff's Office and the San Francisco Police Department.

It was discovered that Mint had been with a 26-year-old male named Christopher "Kio" Dizefalo, and was found unharmed inside Dizefalo's white van.

Mint's parents expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the search and recovery, including family, friends, volunteers, and law enforcement. They particularly thanked the officers for their efforts in apprehending potential predators who exploit teenagers.

After initially disappearing, Mint had taken a suitcase and left without access to a vehicle or phone.

Detectives confirmed that Mint had voluntarily run away from home, according to an updated press release from the Marin County Sheriff's Office.

Dizefalo was interviewed by detectives and subsequently arrested for multiple crimes, with bail set at $50,000. Mint has since been reunited with their family.
