
Sales of local car assemblers (including LCVs, vans and jeeps) during November 2014 stood at 11,789 units, up 23% year on year compared to 9,588 units in the same month last year.
However, sales declined by 7% month on month due to normal year-end phenomenon. During the first five months of fiscal year 2015, sales were up 8% to 56,339 units compared to 52,384 units in the same period last year.
The robust increase in tractor sales has also been observed after the reduction of General Sales Tax (GST) in the latest budget. During the first five months of fiscal year 2015, tractor sales surged 45% to 18,457 units compared to 12,758 units in the corresponding period last year.
Millat Tractors led the tractor segment in volumes, selling 11,247 units, up 55%year on year followed by Al-Ghazi tractors with 6,953 units, up 30% year on year. Among individual companies, Pak Suzuki sales remained flat at 5,984 units in November 2014 on yearly basis but declined 7% on a month on month basis. Indus Motor sold 4,499 units in November 2014, up 106% compared to 2,183 units in the same month last year. Honda Atlas Cars sold 1,266 units in November 2014, down 3% compared to 1,310 units in the same month last year.
