She said this during her visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) along with Pakistan Institute of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Chief Executive Ammar Jaffri.
She was of the view that the UN-APCICT could develop customised training programmes based on the need assessment of women entrepreneurs in order to train them to use ICTs for expanding their business ventures.
“We have come to Pakistan with the specific mandate to explore the possibilities of partnerships for capacity building of women entrepreneurs in the use of ICTs,” she said.
Both organisations discussed various options for facilitating women entrepreneurs to expand their businesses by using latest ICT tools, which were helpful in reaching out to regional and international markets.
ICCI also highlighted its efforts aimed at youth development with particular focus on women entrepreneurship. A number of local women entrepreneurs pointed out various issues being faced in the use of ICTs for entrepreneurship development.
