Kamran shines in Quaid-i-Azam Trophy

Another century, another reminder as Akmal enjoys the domestic season.

Kamran Akmal once again knocked on the selectors’ doors as he guided NBP to 276 for six against Faisalabad on the opening day of their four-day Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match at the Sports Stadium in Sargodha. Akmal made 132 off 204 deliveries while Rashid Riaz hit 77.

Karachi humiliated

Wapda humiliated Karachi Blues on the first day as they dismissed them for 128 and then reached 116 for one at the National Stadium Karachi. Rana Navedul Hasan took four for 66 and Nawaz Sardar took four for just five as Wapda gained the upper hand.

PIA reach 224

PIA did well and reached 224 for four as Shoaib Malik continued his good form, hitting 102 off just 117 balls against hosts Sialkot at the Jinnah Stadium. Kamran Sajid made 72.

Rawalpindi fare well

Rawalpindi made 334 for five against HBL as Babar Naeem hit 80 off 133 deliveries. Kamran Hussain was the only highlight for the bankers as he took three for 51.

Bowlers’ day in Islamabad

Eighteen wickets fell on the first day as Islamabad were first bowled out for 97 before SNGPL fared a little better to reach 142 for eight at the Diamond Ground. Asad Ali took six for 50 to demolish the hosts Islamabad while Imran Ali took four for 22.

ZTBL on top

ZTBL reduced Multan to 19 for two after amassing 325 with Zohaib Khan making 97, at the Multan Stadium. Mohammad Khalil, who has been on a wicket-taking spree, took both the wickets.
