The commission will consist of two retired justices.
Prior to this, a commission that had previously been constituted provided a report. However, there were still no improvements in the region.
The newly-constituted commission is expected to submit a report to the Sindh chief minister in 30 days.
The commission is expected to identify individuals and institutions responsible for the deteriorating situation in the drought affected area.
As recent as November 26, the Sindh High Court had directed the provincial government to take serious steps to ensure an end to drought-related deaths in Tharparkar.
During the hearing of a suo motu case on the deaths caused by the calamity, a report on the issue was presented before the bench which claimed that 240 people had died as a result of malnutrition and thirst -- most victims being under the age of five.

Most unfortunate to see hear starvation. Saddest part is neglect in reporting and no aid. Similarly in kalahandi in Orissa india there were stArvation deaths. No water, tempertature upto 48 Celsius added to misery.
