KARACHI:

The management board of the Quaid's mausoleum has chalked out an elaborate security plan for the mausoleum in coordination with the Sindh Rangers, Frontier Constabulary and the police.

The plan was devised in a meeting chaired by commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui. It was decided that visiting hours for the public will be from 9am to 5pm. To ensure fool-proof security on the premises as well as in its surroundings, it was agreed that sharpshooters will be posted at high-rise buildings around the site.

Closed-circuit television cameras will be installed on all corners of the mausoleum to keep an eye on the activities going on in and around the premises. Heavy searchlights will be installed in all dimly lit sites.

Moreover, watchtowers are also planned to be built. It has been decided that the grilles that allow an open view of the mausoleum will be replaced by barriers and concrete walls. Siddiqui said that maintaining the sanctity of the Quaid's mausoleum was the responsibility of the government as well as the citizens.
