Bidding adieu: Qadri vows to continue struggle

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri said on Wednesday that no movement in Pakistan could succeed without the support of his party. He was speaking to reporters before leaving for the United States. Qadri said he would return to Pakistan as soon as he had recovered and continue his struggle to bring about a revolution. He directed PAT activists to keep their morale high and requested that they pray for his quick recovery.  Qadri said no movement could succeed without the support of the party.  He said his Canadian nationality had not hindered his activities in any way and he would renounce his citizenship in the blink of an eye if the need ever arose. Qadri said the PAT would rid the nation of tyranny and corruption.  He said all allies of the PAT should join hands and mount a concerted effort to be successful. Qadri said it was incomprehensible that the police had fired at PAT activists for 12 hours during the June 17 Model Town violence without the blessings of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He said the party would never accept the constitution of any joint investigation in this regard under the government’s auspices.
