Land mafia: Coalmine owners demand intervention

PESHAWAR:

Residents of Frontier Region (FR) Kohat have demanded the government and political administration help them regain control over coalmines allegedly taken over by the land mafia.

Addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday, Haji Ghulam Rasool and Malik Dilawar Khan said they had owned the property in question for years.

He added that their mines were taken over by the land mafia in 2008 when they left the area due to the deteriorating law and order.

They urged the political administration to resolve the matter and intervene to avoid a confrontation between the two groups.
