A scuffle broke when protesters tried to move towards the CM House (7-Club Road) Lahore, via Davis Road, where the presidential convoy was scheduled to pass through.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said the men had been protesting outside the press club since morning, and the police facilitated them by arranging their meetings with the concerned department. However, he added, they then tried to move towards the Mall Road to block the presidential convoy route.
CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and asked DIG Operations to submit a report in this regard.
Dr Haider subsequently suspended five police officials, and added that action would be taken against them after inquiry.
“We condemn every kind of torture on citizens,” he said.
“We were protesting for our right to get in the government sector as per our quota and the police tortured us,” one of the protesters told The Express Tribune.
However, SP Imtiaz Sarwar said that no one was baton-charged, and they only tried to stop them from entering the Club Road. In fact, he added, the police facilitated the blind protesters by arranging a meeting with the concerned department so that their issues could be resolved.
Another protester added that they would only hold negotiations with the Punjab chief minister or Hamza Shahbaz Sharif.
“The police are patronising hooligans, the likes of ‘Gullu Butt” he added.

Once again King Shahbaz Sharif ibne Mian Sharif took notice of the incidence while respective department and officers had no courage to investigate it. O you King! Just listen, it is 21th century and it is not at all a way to run the affairs of a province. You should strengthen departments and get rid of this rusted bureaucracy.
imagine the culprits of model town punished...would this have happend?..that's why Khan is taking a stance against rigging in election ,too...let's first punish the cuprits then we may proceed
@Umair: they build metros and other mega projects for the love of kickbacks and not for the love of their serfs the people in this country
@Ch. Allah Daad: you are funny
@Ch. Allah Daad: Where are these brainless and jahil policemen coming from? Dropping form heaven? Born into police clothes? Randomly selected by lottery?
When are you going to get it into your head that the development of the law enforcing agencies is the primary responsibility of the government!

Exactly @Sami:
@Main Faisal Sharif: Only a Sharif could post such an innocent comment !
Main sb. has taken notice. No doubt incident is very bad but how it is Main sb.'s fault. It was mishandeling by Police. Please stop blaming Main sb. for everything.
Go Nawaz Go
I feel ashamed to be a citizen of this country.
Today, I saw the most shameful scenes by Punjab Police on TV's history. They have lost all their credibility by beating innocent, hapless, visually impaired people of this country. What was their crime? Asking for jobs?
And our CM of Punjab is lavishly spending our tax money on these trips without even taking notice of the situation. PMLN talk about restoring democracy and give examples about western democracy but have no idea what democracy really is.
In the western world, if a situation like this occurs, any minister directly or indirectly responsible for the current crisis resigns from his or her post. Not because it was his fault but because under his supervision and governance the crisis happened and he was not able to stop it. This means he cannot do his job properly and that is why he resigns.
Sadly, in Pakistan we will never see such thing ever occurring. Neither PM or CM of Punjab will ever take notice of it. They will never admit that their government has failed to protect the people. Those people who they claim has given them the mandate to form the government. They will only condemn this crisis and will never take actions against those who are responsible.
@Ch. Allah Daad: No no none of his fault, he's just sitting on the chief ministers seat for the last consecutive six years and still haven't been able to fix the Punjab police. Just the fault of Pakistani people who vote for him!oh lord give us some brains.
I would say only this that PML-N and Punjab Police always go together in Punjab for their against the laws actions and only VVIP culture is being promoted in Pakistan by PML-N and other ruling parties in parliament and provincial assemblies and the same situation of VVIP's culture's promotion has been displayed in Sindh by PPP.......
Thank god though that they were just beaten up and not shot at! You never know what these thugs end up doing!
Shameful. Those poor blind people deserved better. The Punjab Police is pathetic depiction of what happens when all you focus on is building roads, bus systems, distributing laptops etc. instead of strengthening the system and providing basic necessities to the masses.
Ruling for 30 years, finger wagging Chief Minister obsessed with Turkish companies is really disgusting.
@Ch. Allah Daad: Mian Shahbaz has nothing to do with this incident and also with Model Town incident, is police reporting to CM of Indian Punjab?
What is the big deal? the Punjab Police was merely following the SOPs.......
Look how the King celebrate "International Day of Persons with Disabilities"? I find no word to express my feelings.....
Can anyone tell what Mian Shehbaz Sharif has to do in this matter? He has taken notice of the stupidity of some brainless and jahil policemen. Some are suspended and soon they would be punished. Those who are blaming Mian Sahib are no different than these mentally delayed policemen.
This is why we're out on the streets with Imran Khan; to fight these corrupt tyrants! It's not about supporting left-wing or right-wing politicians anymore. Right now, you either support tyrants, or you support the defiant protesters who're battling these tyrants! '
Extremely Disturbing Incident
This is really disturbing, Oh Allah help us, forgive us for what we did wrong. Save us. I am very upset today. I hv seen these clips on tv and sadden me alot. We should all pray to God and ask for forgiveness.
Well done Shahbaz Sharif....how many Gullu Butts have you inducted into the Punjab police ?
PPl wud still find a reason to vote and support PMLN because Slavery is in their blood, all the curse on those who are with sharifs
@Cynic Waheed:
His name is @Ch. Allah Dad, not @Ch. Allah Ditta. Anyways, he is currently busy cleaning his dundas to remove the blood of blind people. He will then dress up as a "democrat" and start printing more darbari qaseedas here in favour of his great "democratic" emperors. Be patient, @Ch. Allah Dad is on his way!
Utter fascists. Go Gullu Butt Go!
@Cynic Waheed: i was abt to comment the same. Ch. Allah dita is a very loyal and dedicated patwari. If NS says that the sun rises from the west, mr. Ditta will even accept that.
Model Town brutal killings, deaths of 2 dozen children due lack of oxygen, blood transfusions from contaminated blood with AIDS virus, murderous attack on the disabled etc
God help us from these people who have ruled Punjab like kings.
We all know report will serve no good, instead all culprit policemen will get promotion, this is what happening always in Shahbaz reign. Because model town responsible do not get the required punishment, this makes the Punjab Govt really adamant to repeat such crimes.............time for courts to take action.
Sharif is looking into it, but if these people promise to build a bridge where sharif brothers factories stuff can be used then they have a bigger chance. Please people of pakistan build bridges and roads and help sharif brothers build the pakistan.
this is utterly disgusting... again the cops wont be held responsible for the mistreatment of the citizens.
Where is Ch Allah Ditta?
A coment from him will be very welcome. Just want to see how he will still find a way of supporting 'Noon' on this.
regards,
Jiyo Khan. You are our only hope.

Punjab govt is disgusting and police action clearly shows the mindset and attitude of Shudda Sharif. I would call this as one of "Black Days" of Pakistan history.
May ALLAH forgive our misdeeds and give strength to do good things and resulting good leaders govern us.
RIP PMLN
Gullu Police of shahbaz and nawaz
Sad. Imagine what would happen if the Sharifs are given a free hand.
this is hitting under the belt. Not done dear.
Shame on Punjab Police, Sharif brothers can build metros and motorways but giving rights and basic facilities to its people is out of questions, and thats the only reason i support Imran Khan as he's a voice of poor and middle class people.
