Qadri vows to return as he leaves for US

PAT chief cites ill health as the reason for his departure

LAHORE:
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri said he will be back in Pakistan as soon as his medical treatment was completed, Express News reported Wednesday.

Qadri made this statement as he prepared for his departure from Lahore to the United States this morning. He cited ill health as the reason for his departure.

"I will continue to fulfill my commitment until my last breath," said the PAT chief, dismissing widespread rumours that he might not return.

Stressing that he is determined to change the corrupt system, Qadri said he will not accept the joint investigation team - formed to probe the Model Town incident - until and unless Punjab Police was made part of the investigation.

The party leader was due to board his flight at 9:35am, however, the flight was delayed for reasons not known.
