While talking to Express News's Javed Chaudhry during the programme Kal Tak on Tuesday, Qureshi said that if talks resume by December 6, he could request PTI Chairman Imran Khan to call off the party’s scheduled shutter down protest in Faisalabad.
“If [Ishaq] Dar sb, after speaking with the prime minister, assures us [PTI] that the government is ready to initiate negotiations by December 6, I will try persuading my party to call off the protest,” Qureshi said.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar who spreaheaded talks with PTI until August 31, agreed that if PTI’s protest is deferred, the government would surely start the dialogue process by December 6 or 7.
“I am ready to go an extra mile for this, and will reach out to the prime minister..,” the senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said during the programme.
Imran had unvieled his much-talked-about ‘Plan-C’ at the party's rally on Sunday, November 30.
He had threatened to lockdown Lahore, Faislabad and Karachi, followed by a countrywide shutdown on December 16 if his longstanding demand for an independent audit of the May 2013 elections was not accepted.

@Igloo: No we are tired of Imran Khan's and the media's lies. Everyone should go back to being neutral and honest and not spread the propaganda of ANY party. Noon League supporters have come to the conclusions Imran Khan is a serial liar and flip-flopper. That is why we support Noon-League. We have the right to support whoever we want. Like you have the right to support whoever you want! Calling us corrupt is just wrong and completely against democratic norms. PTI supporters are so intolerant, uff.
@Pervaiz Lodhie: That goes for Imran Khan only. Nawaz Sharif has things to do.
If you build something where initially lots of people have invested lots of valuable time and effort and what you built does not work the way it was meant to be then you have two choices: 1st Option: Completely destroy or break it down and start all over, invest lots of energy and time with the hope that new product will not have problems. Sorry, no guarantee. 2nd Option: First analyze using God given brain. Then only fix or modify what is not working. Takes a lot less time, effort and cost. Results in a better product.
Most of these N League supporters aren't brainwashed or anything but they're part of the corrupt system themselves. From the bribe taking police officer to the electricity stealing land owner from the ghost teacher who comes once a month to collect her pay check to the tax evading business owner. These people are all well aware of what they are doing and who they support. Parties like PPP and N league give these people refuge from being held accountable for their crimes. These people will blame IK and the youth for all the bad that happens in the country yet the truth is that they are solely responsible for all the problems this country has right now. These people steal and rob from hard working Pakistanis everyday and they do the same when they go abroad, I personally know two families like this in London, They'll act very religious in front of others but when it comes to government assistance, they'll take all the money they can. Ask almost any welfare taking Pakistani abroad and they'll be firm supporters of Nawaz Sharif, you want to know why? because this has been ingrained in their minds from childhood by their criminal parents before them that it is ok to take money from other people which ever way you can. These people make other Pakistanis look bad and I'm sad to say that IK or Qadri can't do anything for Pakistan because until this certain class of people, isn't eradicated from our society our country can never change.
this movement of PTI will go down in history as the turning point for this nations democracy, if PTI succeeds then in the future you will not see Luttoo tay Phutoo as every one would know that they can win elections only on performance and not by rigging, status co parties are going to make it hard for sure but this movement should succeed if we want our future generation to be in safe hands.
Phook nikal gayi lagti hay.
@Blithe: Pakistan is already blocked for last 3/4 months. Don't you see the mirror? Everyone is saying Go Nawaz go. Only Darbaris are trying to prove themselves as " Shah se ziyada Shah ke wafadar" Go Nawaz Go and Go Zardari Go.
Great opportunity for both Nawaz as well as Imran. Don't waste it. Stop pointing fingers each others mistakes. Start analyzing and pointing fingers towards yourself. Don't waste time on digging each others past skeletons in the closet which will be many.
Bring it On PTI, I challenge you to TRY and block my business and my roads. All businesses will be open and buses will run and roads will be open in every Punjab city. We do not care what you say and we will FAIL you. Bring it on PTI just Bring it On!
Even your father can't block Pakistan . Go and lick the Peshawari Chapal of IK - that's all you are good for , you rogue
Qureshi already appears to be distancing himself from his leader's wild announcement. No, let's call your leaders bluff so that an end is brought to his threats. November 30 was the last threat when IK planned to bring half a million people to Isloo. It fizzled out with less than 10% in attendance. Dec 8 is going to be just another normal day. Does PTI need any more ignominy!
PMLN supporters are waiting for you to "shut down" Pakistan. Bring it on!!
Noon League is on the right side of history and we will prevail. Bring it on. You have lost and the longer you stay the longer you hurt yourself.
Qureshi sb I think you should know better that this would turn out to be another delaying tact.....
