In emergency: ‘Rescuers should be well-equipped’

LAHORE: No compromise should be made on service standards and quality of training of emergency medical technicians, Punjab Emergency Services Director General Rizwan Naseer said on Sunday. He was addressing the passing-out ceremony of EMTs who had completed a training course at the Emergency Services Academy. He said such refresher courses were necessary to provide quality emergency services. “Emergency services across the world focus on such training courses to improve their capacity and performance.” Naseer said Rescue 1122 had taken the responsibility of promoting a ‘safety culture’ in the province. “Rescuers should remain prepared round the clock to fulfil their responsibilities.”  He directed them to keep personal medical kits with them so that they might respond to any emergency at any time. The objective of the course was to enhance skills of EMTs and provide them hands- on training in line with international guidelines.
