Pakistan finished as runners-up last year after being humbled by hosts India in a one-sided affair at the final.
The training camp, team selection and participation all fall under the auspices of the Punjab Sports Board and will be monitored by the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF).
“The federation will have its members from different departments monitoring every step of the way but we will not be involved in the selection of the team,” PKF secretary Muhammad Sarwar told The Express Tribune.
“The strongest possible squad will be sent to the event because we’re aiming to win the title. At the moment, the camp includes our star players Lala Obaidullah and Musharraf Javed among others.
“We’re hoping that Pakistan will be able to win the World Cup this time around if they prepare well.”
