ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Taxi Drivers Union on Friday announced that taxicabs would remain off the capital’s roads on November 30 due to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rally. In a statement issued by Malik Aftab, the president of the union, it was decided that cabbies will not ply their vehicles on Sunday in order to protect their life and property. The statement adds that the move was influenced by the fact that many taxis had been burnt during clashes between protesters and the police on August 30.
