The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued notices to Pakistan Peoples Party’s Faryal Talpur and Ayaz Soomro, among others, on a petition seeking a probe into the alleged misappropriation of funds of the Prime Minister’s development scheme for Larkana.
They have been directed to file their comments by December 2. A resident of Larkana took the PPP lawmakers and others to the court over an alleged misappropriation of development funds. The petitioner, Bashir Ahmed, said in 2008 the then Prime Minister had announced a scheme titled ‘Development and Beautification of Larkana City’, and funds worth Rs12 billion were allocated for it. He claimed that the funds were released but no work had been done.
