More than 1,200 students from around the country are participating in the Millennial Model United Nations 2014 which opened at Roots Millennium Campus I/9-3 on Tuesday.

Ambassador of Argentina Rodolfo J Martin Saravia was the chief guest at the inauguration, said a press release issued by the school.

Speaking at the event, the ambassador said education was the best investment, adding that the youth could best improve the image of a country. “This is the time to pitch your country in the global arena,” he said while addressing students.

Principal Ayesha Ansar said the purpose of the exercise was to foster teamwork and engage the youth in organising a scholastic event.

The event is an amalgamation of different cultures, with students from different parts of Pakistan participating in model diplomatic debates and policymaking.

“We are committed to resolving the issues of the youth of Pakistan, and the Millennials provide it with the highest quality support,” said the MMUN 14 Committee Secretary-General Abdullah Mobeen. Roots Millennium Schools Chief Executive Faisal Mushtaq said the fast and consistent always wins rather than the slow and steady.
