Saudi beheads 8th Pakistani since mid-October
Seyfour al Rahman Golajan is the latest of 73 people, foreigners and Saudis, to be executed in the kingdom this year, according to an AFP tally.
He "was caught trying to smuggle a large quantity of heroin hidden in his gut into the kingdom", an interior ministry statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency said.
Golajan was executed in the Eastern Province city of Dammam.
The ministry says the government is battling narcotics "because of their great harm to individuals and society".
According to the Ansar Burney Trust, as many as 50 Pakistanis face capital punishment in the Kingdom for transporting drugs.
In September, an independent expert working on behalf of the United Nations expressed concern about the judicial process and called for an immediate moratorium on the death penalty in Saudi Arabia.
The oil-rich Gulf state saw the third highest number of executions in the world last year after Iran and Iraq, according to Amnesty International whose figures did not include China.

I support capital punishment for certain crimes like rape, murder, drugs smuggling; but at the same time i feel that there should be a systematic judicial process towards the verdict with access to lawyers etc. China has a similar punishment process and so do several south asian countries. A strict punishment that is unilateral to all irrespective of colour, cast or religion should be exercised. The article clearly states that this is the 8th Pakistani out of 73 executions this year, hence the other 65 must be of different nationalities including saudis and arabs, this is not being biased towards certain people however certain people tend to commit those crimes the most. we are to blame that we cannot control our borders and what we export. Having said that no one can guarantee how a certain individual will react when shown the green for smuggling drugs in their gut, is it out of desperation or the persons consent? its his own decision.
A south Asian supporting Arab for execution, what about legal counsel? Can human life become so cheap just because he doesn't hail from a powerful country like US?
And @Musawer will Saudis have guts to execute someone from say Russia, its high time that Saudis stop beheading, give him hard punishment but not execution. And I am sure every sane human feels this way
for the very 1st time, i see a friend from across the border supporting a pakistani, how nice of you, Dear, the man was caught with heroin in his gut, why was it in his gut? because he knows it's illegal and he knows it's worth a lot, while he was shoving the condoms in his mouth filled with heroin, and when he boarded the flight to saudi arab, he decided his fate,
if was not caught, this smuggler will be rewarded a lot of cash, if caught, his head will be chopped off, yet he did what he did, and you blame Saudi authorities and their law?
this is a country with one of the world's most extreme punishments for almost any crime, yet they choose to gamble with their lives,

Why do our Arab brothers indulge in this butchery against their fellow Pakistani bothers who share their Arab bloodline?
Even though I am an Indian, I feel absolutely disgusted by this. Saudis chop off people from weaker countries but they can't even think of touching a westerner. I just cannot understand why Pakistani government won't protest. I have worked with Saudis. They feel that South Asians are their slaves.
Pakistani's are being chopped off like vegetables. How shameful that the government doesn't act? The least the Paki Government could do is to provide legal counsel to the people in Saudi jails. Most People from South Asia working in Saudi are uneducated & desperately poor. They may have done the crime knowingly or unknowingly, or out of desperation. Rather than killing the messenger, the people who are using these people needs to be slaughtered.
