TTP leader Mullah Fazlullah escapes US drone strike near Pak-Afghan border
A senior security official from Fata, while talking to The Express Tribune, said it was confirmed that Fazlullah was present in the Nizyan area of the Ningarhar province of Afghanistan on the Durand Line.
He said the TTP leader escaped the drone strike. However, five others were killed in the strike reportedly near near the zero-line between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The official said they are trying to collect further details of the strike and prepare a report with the help of Afghan security officials.
Further, he said it could not be confirmed where Fazlullah had been moved after the strike took place.

Well..before the failed "US" attempt his whereabouts were known to some extent and now "it could not be confirmed where Fazlullah had been moved after the strike took place". So much was going wrong for some only a few days ago and now the whole nation is distracted & mourning. I know I sound negative and I pray to Allah that I am wrong, but at the same time I pray that out nation could not be taken advantage of their emotions any more. Amen. News of hangings really gave releif to many but at the same time question is why did it take them so long to do it? 70,000 lives late??
DONT DRONE ATTACK HIM. CAPTURE AND PUNISH. Let his other followers learn lesson. When he is killed in drone strike somebody new will be appointed by the TTP shura. BACK TO SQUARE ONE ?

It is a changed strategy after we launched military operation in NWA after 4 years, which was home to Haqqani`s & the Americans always demanded action them. The presence of Fazlullah on Afghan soil was already known to the Afghan govt & the Americans, but they acted after we acted in NWA....the Americans ensured that we are targeting all groups without discrimination, then they acted to eliminate Fazlullah. The announcement by Mr Obama that American forces will stay beyond 2015 was confirmed after the visit of our COAS...is this not change of strategy ? yes ! one thing for sure, all strategy by the Americans only in the interest of America..agree.
@Imran Qadri: @ishrat salim: Many of the previous TTP heads and officials have been targeted by drones. This has nothing to do with any change of strategy or visit of army chief for that matter. Intelligence agencies work on both sides. A carefully planned strategy is made and the end result is the elimination, or atleast limiting the capacity and capability of "anyone", TTP or TT of A to target Americans! Period. Its the safety of Americans that matter the most and they will cut out any strategy, make anyone their escape goat (be it their own ambassador) that will ensure what they believe is best for them.
Why was he not on USA's hit-list previously when he had been openly found to be involved in terrorism activities inside Pakistan..? Why was he allowed to operate with impunity from inside US controlled Afghanistan?
