Roadwork: CM wants Thehri bypass repaired

KARACHI: Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah told the Works and Services department on Monday to take up the issue of the dilapidated portion of National Highway at the Thehri Bypass near Khairpur with the National Highway Authority (NHA) and to get it repaired. He said that road accidents had become the order of the day there, with four road accidents claiming 60 lives and injuring scores of people this month alone. He added that the National Highway was in dire need of repair work in other places as well. Shah also took notice of the protest by the Sukkur Small Traders Association and asked the local government department why the sewerage system had failed in Sukkur. He further told the Sukkur commissioner to report to him about the performance of local bodies in the city.
