General Akhtar took the reins of ISI on November 7 and this was his second meeting with the premier after assuming charge.
During the meeting, which lasted for an hour, Akhtar and PM Nawaz discussed national issues as well as security challenges faced by the country.
The premier will be attending South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit this week which follows some of the worst cross-border violence in Kashmir in a decade, and comes as Nato-led troops prepare to pull out of Afghanistan, intensifying the India-Pakistan rivalry as the countries vie for influence there.

Taking inventory of assets?
@Babbarsher Khan: The last from the old dynasty holding the lonely post? This is not the favourable time for the military to act but all options are on the table.

It is high time that we establish ambassador level diplomatic relation with ISI! Looking at two gentlemen's posture one feels that two head of the governments are discussing matter of "global importance". The high level of "civilian supremacy" we are witnessing in our country is unparalleled. I am sure this Wazir-e-Azam will be remembered for eternity by the posterity for that!
Pakistan's past record of interfering in Afghanistan has probably created security problems for the indefinite future. Unlike other countries Pakistan cannot just leave and go home. Pakistan is right in the firing line and payback may well occur. With this added to Pakistan's current involvement in North-West Waziristan and the payback that will produce I would suggest that the military will be kept reasonably busy for quite some time. On a lighter note the picture may be slanted due to Muhammad Jinnah showing his displeasure. I was in England having dinner with a friend at their country house and a picture over the fireplace started rocking from side to side. The hostess said not to worry. It was just the resident ghost.
The political wing of Pakistan military which was formed during the military rule of the country. Is the Prime Minister strong enough to snatch this organ away from the military or too weak to submit to this authority?

Yes! Jinnah is tilted and that too in favor of Gen.Saheb ;)
Two in a trade…………seldom……………….2018
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this picture is an example. Presumably Director of ISI is not the Prime Minister's equal. Therefore their meeting should be held where the PM is in his office behind his desk with the Director sitting opposite reflecting his status. A similar photo was in the papers recently where the PM and COAS sat exactly the same way but then again we know who has the power don't we? The media knows this and calls it a meeting between two leaders.
@Hedgefunder. it would be great service to yourself, if you try to get a life and then possibly get a job (if an opportunity is available in your country) so that your obsession with Pakistan decreases just a bit, and maybe you stop posting your un-called for and repetitive comments on atleast those articles that have nothing to do with your country.
two leaders??
It would help all the neighbors, if Pakistan and specially these two esteemed leaders realize that their greatest security challenges are all internal and self created. It would be great service to the neighborhood, if you also managed to secure these strategic assets of yours within your boundary too. The alarm bells are already ringing as to the potential arrival of IS, as Pakistan is customized to their requirement , for it to flourish !
The main Agenda of the meeting was "The PTI Jalsa on November 30" rest is Drama.
