Reward: Laptops distributed among IUB students

305 laptops were distributed among MPhil and PhD students.

BAHAWALPUR:


Minister of State for Education Mian Muhammad Baleeghur Rehman distributed laptops at a ceremony at Islamia University on Saturday.


Addressing the ceremony, he said Rs860 million had been granted to the university to develop research facilities. He said laptops would be given to deserving students in all provinces.


He distributed 305 laptops among MPhil and PhD students.


Vice Chancellor Muhammad Afzal Khan thanked the government for facilitating students at the IUB.


He said many students had benefitted from the Fee Reimbursement Programme.


HEC Research and Development Director Tariq Mehmood said it was a matter of pride that 8,000 research articles written by Pakistanis were being published in international journals every year.

Where millions of children don't have resources to get basic education... The government is busy buying votes by giving laptops from taxpayers money to people who don't really need it... If you are rich enough to get advanced education you can definitely buy laptops on your own but well everyone knows these are just tactics to buy votes...
