KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA: One child has died, while nine others injured as a school teacher ran his car over students of a high school in the Lower Dir district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Express News reported on Saturday.

One of the victims, Samiullah, passed away immediately after the accident, while three others were admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Timergara for medical treatment. They are said to be in critical condition.

As the teacher, Saleem Khan, was reportedly suffering from psychological disorders, he had lost control of his car breaking limbs of some of the pupils.

Following the accident, the police arrested the culprit and registered a case against him.

The security officials also criticised the school authorities for allowing the culprit to teach, despite his deteriorating mental condition.

Earlier in Punjab this week, an intermediate student, of Chak 77-RB, died in a road accident while returning to home from school near Khurarianwala Chowk in Faisalabad. Her body was handed over to her family for burial.
