ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s spokesperson Dr Musaddik Malik has said that the government believes in separation of powers between judiciary and executive and hopes that the judiciary will also acknowledge these demarcations. “It’s positive that apparently government and judiciary have got separated from each other. If we follow the Constitution, we will have to ensure separation of powers between judiciary and executive,” he said. Malik was addressing a press conference at the PM House after the Special Court trying Pervez Musharraf for treason, included three civilians as co-accused. “Special court’s judgment is a good move and the government welcomes every judicial order,” he said, but did not make any other comment on the judgment. Malik confirmed that the PM Office had received resignation of one of the federal ministers, Zahid Hamid, who was also named as a co-abettor in Musharraf’s case. “The prime minister, however, has not yet accepted his resignation,” he said.
