Relations with Austria: President stresses stronger ties
President appreciated the long-term partnership between both countries in economic, trade and commercial relations.

President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday said the country wishes to further strengthen its partnership with Austria in different areas to mutually benefit people of both countries. He was talking to Austrian Ambassador in Pakistan Axel Wech. The president appreciated the long-term partnership between both countries in economic, trade and commercial relations. He lauded the positive role played by OMV, an oil and gas company of Austria, in the energy sector of the country, particularly the Sawan and Kandanwari gas field in Sindh. The president also appreciated the participation of a number of Austrian companies in Pakistan’s various hydro power and alternate energy projects. He emphasised that both countries should continue exploring mutual avenues for future cooperation to enhance the existing volume of bilateral trade, noting that the existing trade was far below the potential.
